Mrs. Mary Jane Daily Bennett -- VANCE

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Daily Bennett, 70, of 512 Pineland Road, Vance, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Rock Hill AME Church in Vance with the Rev. Melvin Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Bennett died Wednesday, Nov. 17, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Daily and Annie Lou Westberry. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Mae Sherrod. She was a previous member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Orangeburg, and a current member of Rock Hill AME Church, Vance. She was a graduate of Roberts Hill School and a retired home child care provider.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories her husband, Joseph M. Bennett, of Orangeburg; two daughters, Mary Goodson, of Orangeburg and Betty Strudwick, of Columbia; three sons, Joseph Bennett Jr. and Jackie Bennett, both of Orangeburg, and Ronald Bennett, of St. Matthews; one sister, Almeata Green, of Santee; one brother, Calvin Daily Jr., of Oxford, Md.; five granddaughters, Carla Goodson, Ebony Strudwick, Angela Bennett, Lauren Bennett and Melody Benjamin; one great-granddaughter, Daria Benjamin; a very special caregiver, Flossie Shivers Brown, of Orangeburg and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at her residence, 512 Pineland Road, Vance, at the residence of her daughter, 1615 John Wesley Drive, Orangeburg, or at the funeral home.
