Funeral services for the Rev. Johnny Lee Holmes, 57, of 141 Peach Orchard St., Vance, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Live Oak AME Church, Vance, with the Rev. Willie Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Holmes died Saturday, Feb. 19, at his residence.

He was born in Vance, a son of the late Paul and Virginia Holmes. He was a former resident of Jersey City, N.J.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Holmes, of the home; five sons, Johnny Jr., Dush, Dwayne, Lloyd (Annie), and Derek (Tamara); one daughter, Miracle; one grandson, Malachi; one brother, Jimmy (Millicent) Reed, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; five sisters, Maltilda (Robert) McClary, of Sumter, Philistine (Alphonso) Hicks, of Manhattan, N.Y.; Oneatha (James) King, of Santee, Alferda McClary, of Tampa, Fla., Patricia Simmons, of Hopkins; five brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; four aunts; and a host of uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Eutawville Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
