1st Judicial Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe said late Friday that a 26-year-old man has been charged with murder in the double slayings of Cecil Bennett and Shirley Wiles.

Baru Allah Trump, of an unknown address, was charged with the Aug. 31 shooting deaths of Bennett, owner and operator of Cecil's Barber Shop, and Wiles, a customer.

"Mr. Baru Trump was arrested by the State Law Enforcement Division for two counts of murder for the murders of Cecil Bennett and Mrs. Wiles in August," Pascoe said.

Authorities say the murders occurred during a robbery attempt at Bennett's Wingate Street barber shop. After the shootings, a customer entering the business discovered Bennett and Wiles and called 911.

More information will be published as it becomes available Friday.

" May God be with the families of these two people in their time of need. Myself, my daughter (that received her very first "hair-cut" from Cecil), my mother, and my father we all customers of Cecil's. Hopefully this arrest will help with some closure. "

" I would like to thank all the law enforcements for the outstanding job that has been done in this case and will continue until the case is closed. Until people have walked in your shoes, they do not know the abuse that you take from the public. I know, my husband is a Polic Officer. I would also like to thank the local customers of Cecil Bennett that were there for his wife and my sister Joyce. We need to be very careful when making assumptions and the damage it can have on the family members. This damage can never be repaired. To those of you who made these assumptions, our prayers are that this will never happen to your family. To the news media, thank you for keeping the public informed as you had solid evidence of the killer that took these two precious lives. You do an outstanding job. "

" Shirley was my first cousin and I am certainly glad to see this news. I hope if he indeed is responsible, he will never be allowed to return to the streets as he has ruined the lives of so many people. "

" Great to see that an arrest was made in this horrible tragedy. "
