6 arrested on drug charges

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s deputies arrested six people after a concerned citizen called about people selling drugs on Middle Penn Road.

After a six-month investigation called Operation Gotcha VI, the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 1317 Middle Penn Road last Friday.

“Operation Gotcha VI is a continuous enforcement effort,” Orangeburg Sheriff Larry Williams said.

“We want to get Orangeburg County as close as possible to drug-free. This is another force in our war on drugs and another attempt to make Orangeburg County safe for our law-abiding citizens, and especially our children. I’m sending a warning to the bad guys, my officers are for real and Operation Gotcha VI is on the way,” he said.

The first Operation Gotcha took place in 2004, with 23 people arrested for various drug and related offenses.

Arrested and charged in Gotcha VI were:

n Laquisha Shuler, 28, of 1317 Middle Penn Rd., Orangeburg, charged with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine

n Collin Shuler, 24, of 1317 Middle Penn Rd., Orangeburg, charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

n Delphine Fogle, 40, of 1317 Middle Penn Rd., Orangeburg, charged with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

n Donald Forest, 57, of 722 Winslow St., Orangeburg, charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

n Sheldon Strickland, 33, of 113 Dothon Rd., Orangeburg, charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

n Shedrick Calloway, 27, of 147 Laquinta Dr., Orangeburg, charged with distribution of marijuana, distribution of marijuana in proximity of a school, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

" I respectfully suggest that "annoumous" learn to spell ANONYMOUS, capitalize proper nouns, use punctuation correctly and pay close attention to syntax. The COMMENT reflects why the schools are such a dismal failure. Further, anything so poorly written cannot be given any credence. "

" it's about time drug activity was on one side of the middlepen road now the sheriff dept need to go to the other side and clean it up too. why clean part and you know all is dirty? "
