Mother, son feud over loud music

A Cordova woman and her son disagreed about his loud music.

The woman told a deputy Monday that her 14-year-old son was playing his music too loud and cursing at her. She said when she told him to turn down the music, he turned it up even louder. She said she went to the electrical panel and turned off the power to his room.

According to the report, her son became irate, cursed at her even more and turned off the power to the entire house.

When the deputy spoke to her son, he told the deputy he was angry at his mother but he apologized to her.

The deputy told the woman that if she needed further assistance to call the OCSO again.

  • A North woman said she and her mother were being taken for a ride in their attempt to purchase a mobile home.

    The woman told a deputy Monday that she and her mother were making arrangements to purchase a mobile home at a local business. She said her mother paid the business owner $4,000 in cash as a security deposit on a mobile home located in North Carolina near Charlotte.

    She said she and her mother have given the business owner money on several different occasions as he has requested it, promising to deliver the mobile home.

    According to the report, the woman and her mother have given the business owner cash totaling $11,935. The woman showed the deputy signed receipts, which she saved for court proceedings if she needs them.

  • An Orangeburg man suspects his two daughters of taking food from his house for their friends.

    The man told a deputy Monday that he is having problems with both his teenage daughters not listening to him. He said they broke a window in the rear of his house to get in and he believes they stole food to give to their friends. He said they live with him but he refuses to give them keys to the house.

    According to the report, the deputy could not speak to the girls because they were visiting friends. The man said he has a case pending before family court concerning his daughters and wanted the incident documented for that purpose.
