CWA Pro Wrestling signs Scott Steiner for Orangeburg appearance
By T&D Staff Wednesday, July 12, 2006CWA Pro Wrestling an independent wrestling organization based in Orangeburg pulled a major coup by signing “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner for their Aug. 5 show here in Orangeburg.
Steiner, a former WCW world heavyweight champion, is currently having main event matches vs. Sting and Samoa Joe on TNA pay-per-views and national telecasts on the Spike network on Thursdays at 11 p.m.
Roger Gleaton and David Garrick have made waves recently by bringing in Buff Bagwell and Lex Luger, but Steiner represents a tremendous achievement.
“It is extremely rare for a wrestler currently in a main event role in a major federation to consider an independent appearance,” Garrick said. “The fact that Steiner signed speaks volumes about the organization and the reputation that CWA is building within the wrestling industry.”
Steiner will be facing CWA Television Champion Chris Chance in the main event of a six-match card at Huggins Field House, located on the Highway 21 bypass. A special ticket is available that includes a ringside seat for the night’s action plus a buffet luncheon with Steiner earlier in the day. Only 30 of these tickets will be sold.
Ticket prices are $40 for the special, $18 for ringside, $12 for floor and $10 for bleacher seating. Tickets may be purchased at Kick Booty Motorsports, GNC at the Prince of Orange Mall, Jumper Auto Parts, or by calling 803-707-4072.
