would lead to greater problems, Graham says
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham says he continues to support the addition of more troops into Iraq because maintaining law and order there is crucial to the security of the free world.
Graham, speaking to Orangeburg Rotarians Tuesday afternoon, said that “failure in Iraq will unleash Pandora’s box in the world.”
Graham said he would support more troops to maintain stability in Iraq, saying that not quelling the civil war will only breed further unrest in the Middle East.

to threat to cut water
The controversy surrounding the location of the proposed new Bamberg County Hospital intensified this week.
Monday night, members of the Denmark City Council said they wanted to correct “misinformation” they say has appeared in letters to the editor from those supporting the location of the new Bamberg County Hospital on U.S. 301 North in Bamberg. Most Denmark officials want the new facility located on U.S. 78 between the cities of Denmark and Bamberg.
Also Monday, Denmark’s mayor pro tem announced the state NAACP will become involved in the debate over the location of the new hospital.
Bamberg Mayor Alton McCollum, quoting Bamberg County Councilman Claire Guess, noted that Denmark City Council hired lawyers with the intention of suing the Bamberg Board of Public Works for attempting to donate land for the hospital.
McCollum requested a motion be made at the next council meeting to urge the commissioners of the Bamberg BPW to stop feeding water to the city of Denmark.
A palpable excitement filled Claflin University’s Tullis Arena Saturday, Feb. 17 as a couple thousand people came out to meet and listen to freshly minted Democratic Party presidential candidate and Illinois Senator Barack Obama.
Obama made his debut in Orangeburg to an enthusiastic crowd donning “Obama ’08 for President” buttons and waving red, white and blue “Obama ’08” signs.
Obama downplayed his critics that say he cannot win and touched upon health care, education, rural infrastructure development and the war in Iraq.
