
DENMARK -- The Winston-Salem State University Choir, University Men and the WSSU Burke Singers will perform at Voorhees College's Massachusetts Hall Auditorium on Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
The performance, which is part of the university's southern spring promotional and recruiting concert tour, is free and open to the public.
The University Choir, University Men and Burke Singers are under the direction of D'Walla Simmons Burke, a native of Fort Valley, Ga. Burke has held teaching positions in the Fulton County Public Schools in Georgia, Voorhees College in Denmark, and presently at WSSU, where she is the director of Choral and Vocal Studies. She is also the founder of the WSSU Burke Singers.
The spring tour performance will include arrangements by noted composers Roland M. Carter, Moses Hogan, Roy L. Belfield, Jr., Marques Garrett, Moses Hogan, Undine Smith Moore, Albert McNeil and Raymond Wise.
