Mrs. Augusta Sease Hill, YORK, PA.
Thursday, March 08, 2007Mrs. Augusta Sease Hill, 94, of York, Pa., died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Pleasant Acres Hospital and Home. She was the wife of the late George Swope Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, 825 East Princess St., York, Pa., with Elder Leighton McMillan officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Mrs. Hill was born Jan. 8, 1913, in Bamberg, the daughter of the late George and Maggie Atterberry Sease. The eighth of nine children, she moved to York, Pa., at age 7 after the death of her parents.
She attended the York City schools and did domestic work for many years. She also worked for Hershey Baking Co. and the Bear’s Department Store until her retirement. She was a daughter of Queen Esther Temple No. 105 and was an original Parkway Homes mother.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by two sons, Donnie Hill and Gary Hill; six brothers, Jacob, James, Ulysses, George, Sylvester and Tillman Sease; and two sisters, Anna Smith and Ora Mitchell.
Survivors include two sons, Stewart Hill and wife, Pat, of York, Pa., and Michael Hill and wife, Karla, of Dover, Pa.; a daughter, Leslye Tucker of Cordova; 25 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Boulding Mortuary Inc., 50 West Boundary Ave., York, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
