Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run
By DONNA HOLMAN,T&D Staff Writer Sunday, March 18, 2007Authorities are searching for the driver of a eastbound vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on S.C. Highway 4, three miles east of Springfield, at 6:20 a.m. Saturday.
Orangeburg Coroner Samuetta Marshall identified the deceased woman as 49-year-old Rosena Robinson.
The road was blocked for four hours following the accident.
The driver left the scene, said Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth, spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Officials are searching for a vehicle with possible damage to the front, to the right passenger side or to the mirror or window on the right passenger side, Edgeworth said.
The patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team is following up on the fatal collision.
