NCAA Tournament Hoops Challenge contest roundup

The NCAA tournament games are well underway, with Sweet Sixteen contests looming in the wake.

Visitors of The Times and Democrat website, TheTandD.com, have all the more reason to take interest in the games, because there is an Apple iPod awaiting the winner of the website’s Hoops Challenge contest.

The current leader, dubbed as “kingman32” has accrued 550 of 640 possible points, admirably picking a great deal of the games correctly. His score not only ranks first in The Times and Democrat region, but ties for second in all participants nationally.

Like the NCAA tournament itself however, the contest is far from over. “kingman32” has Texas picked deep into his bracket, with a projection of Texas falling to Florida in the Finals. This theory was debunked when USC blew past Texas 87 to 68 in Round 2 action.

There are many participants in the Hoops Challenge contest whose imperfections are not so deep into their brackets. These participants have a great opportunity to steal some steam from “kingman32” as the games progress.

Check your standings, and good luck in the contest!
