‘Jungle Safari’

SANTEE – Visitors to the Santee Outlets Mall will have an opportunity to take a walk on the wild side April 18-22 when the “Jungle Safari” show will be in town.
The exhibit, featuring a wide variety of animals and activities, will be in the south parking lot of the shopping mall for five days only. Operating for more than 20 years at shopping centers and other venues, the attraction is touted by its producers as “one of the safest, cleanest educational, professional and family entertainment exhibits in the country.”
The event is free during the mall’s regular shopping hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. through 6 p.m. Sunday. Visitors will have a chance to “see one of the rarest animals in the world,” watch the monkeys play and pet and feed the llama and other animals. Children can even hold a real, live lion cub and have a photo taken with it, Outlets Manager Bob Hickman says.
Camel and pony rides will be available, and free lectures will be given daily. Jungle Safari members will be available to answer any questions visitors might have about the animals.
“We are pleased to bring this interesting exhibit to the community,” Hickman said. “We hope a lot of folks will come to see it and also take the opportunity to shop in our fine stores.”
