Curt Ott -- a long-time coach at Bowman Academy -- has decided that it is time to move on.

In a phone interview Wednesday afternoon, Ott, who served as Bowman Academy's varsity football and boys' basketball coach, told the T&D he would like to continue coaching on a part-time basis.

"I have two children here at home and I would like to spend some time with them," Ott said. "But I am still talking with schools to see what positions are available."

Sources said that, as of Tuesday, a replacement had not been named to take over for Ott. John Weathers, the athletic director of Bowman Academy, could not be reached for comment.

Ott said he was offered a contract to remain at Bowman Academy. However, he said he felt that it was best not to accept the contract renewal. For nearly a month, the former T&D All-Region Coach of the Year has been searching for a coaching vacancy to fill and his quest could end soon enough. In the interview with the T&D, Ott said developments could come as early as Monday.
