Lexington GOP to hold Wilson roast
By T&D Staff Friday, September 14, 2007The Lexington County Republican Party will hold a "A Roast of Congressman Joe Wilson" at its annual Bronze Elephant Banquet.
"Joe Wilson has been a leader in the Republican Party of South Carolina for many years and he has served the people of the Second District and our state with dignity, so it is only fitting that we honor him with a 'roast,'" said banquet chairman Scott Malyerck.
The Lexington County Republican Party will release the names of roasters in the next several weeks. The list will include both local and national figures.
The event will be held Nov. 12 at the Radisson Hotel. The banquet will begin with a special reception with the congressman and guest roasters at 6 p.m., followed by the banquet from 7-9 p.m. Tickets for the event are $50 each and sponsorships are available at the $1,000 and $750 levels.
