Orangeburg City Council is scheduled Tuesday to hold public hearings and consider first reading of ordinances for four separate annexation petitions.

The properties are a strip mall owned by Dayle Bolen at 1000 Chestnut Street, which would be zoned B-General Business; two vacant parcels owned by H.C. Collier on Chestnut Street that would be zoned A-1 Single Family; a single-family residence at 2083 Loblolly Lane owned by Felder Z. Evans Co.; and a single-family residence, also listed at 2083 Loblolly Lane, owned by Reddick Bowman.

In other business, council is scheduled to swear in recently re-elected council members Bernard Haire, Charlie Jernigan and Sandra Knotts to new four-year terms.

Also, according to the agenda, council is scheduled to consider:

* Second reading of an ordinance to set suburban fire protection rates.

* The purchase of a replacement recycling truck.

* A resolution to establish a memorial plaque for the Rev. Daniel Minus in the Sunnyside Playground area.

* A proclamation for the monthly character trait.
