SC Prep Poll: One's not the loneliest number

One is apparently not the loneliest number when it comes to prep football.

Fresh off its 7-6 win over previously top-ranked Bamberg-Ehrhardt, Blackville-Hilda has earned a share of the number-one position in the Associated Press Top 10 Class A poll. Sharing the top spot with the Hawks is another Region 5-A rival Allendale-Fairfax, which had spent the past two weeks at number two. During that time, the Tigers defeated B-H 28-27, then lost the following week 14-7 to B-E, which dropped to number-three.

This marks the second time this season all three T&D Region teams occupied the top three positions in the poll. Along with Williston-Elko, the schools are locked in a four-way tie for first place in Region 5-A with two games left. W-E and A-F will face each other Friday in Allendale, B-E plays host to Estill and B-H travels to Denmark-Olar.

Pelion was the lone T&D Region non-Class A team to make the polls, ranking ninth in Class 2-A. The Panthers travel to Columbia Thursday for a Region 5-AA showdown.
