Local artists, groups receive funding through OCFAC

Orangeburg County Fine Arts Center has awarded the following subgrants for the second quarter of 2007-2008:

* To Del Rae, jazz vocalist/pianist, to assist with expenses incurred in presenting musical programs at area nursing homes, rehab centers, senior centers and prisons.

* To Diverse Art, to assist with the expenses incurred in presenting an exhibition of the work of eight artists, which will be shown in the Lusty Gallery.

* To Jacqueline Skubal and Matt Quay, to assist with the production costs incurred in recording a CD featuring area artists.

* To Anuradha Murali, classical Indian dancer, to assist with travel expenses incurred in performing and teaching at The World Dance Alliance of Americas: Brazil.

The Fine Arts Center offers quarterly grants to artists and arts producing/presenting organizations, service organizations and other non-arts organizations planning arts events.

Applications are available at the Orangeburg County Fine Arts Center, 649 Riverside Drive in Orangeburg. The next subgrant deadline is Nov. 15 for projects beginning in January, February or March. For more information, call 803-536-4074.
