SANTEE -- The sixth annual Charity Golf Tournament of the Santee Fire Service District will be held this Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Santee Cooper Country Club.

The event will be Captain's Choice, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and four members per team. The department is encouraging more women golfers to participate.

The $50 donation includes a round of golf with cart, fellowship and food. Santee Fire Chief Edward Barnett has called on the community to support the firefighters who contribute so much towards the safety of homes and businesses.

"Your firefighters risk their lives with every call they make," Barnett said. "Your donations help with education and transportation for your firefighters, maximizing their ability to save lives and property."

Barnett asked residents to mark their calendars and plan to join the tournament on Saturday, Nov. 3.
