COLUMBIA -- More than 50 business professionals are expected at the 2007 Worksite Wellness Workshop on Nov. 28, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today.

"Strategies for Success No Matter What the Budget" will begin at 9 a.m. at the South Carolina Hospital Association's headquarters in Columbia.

Eat Smart, Move More South Carolina Coalition is coordinating the event. The conference will allow employers to learn about promising practices for implementing worksite wellness programs, particularly on a limited budget. The event will also feature an awards presentation for South Carolina's outstanding worksite wellness programs.

The goal of DHEC's Division of Obesity Prevention and Control is to prevent and control obesity by developing, coordinating and implementing science-based nutrition and physical activity approaches in partnership with public and private leaders in obesity and chronic disease prevention. For more information, visit: http://www.scdhec.gov/obesity.

The mission of the S.C. Eat Smart, Move More Partnership is to coordinate collaborative and sustainable efforts to support healthy eating and active living where South Carolinians live, learn, work and play.
