Denmark Technical College reports record enrollment
Sunday, December 02, 2007DENMARK -- Announcement of the highest enrollment of students in the history of the college, a balanced budget for fiscal 2006-07 and the prioritization of major projects highlighted Denmark Technical College's annual fall Area Commission meeting.
This year's enrollment at Denmark Tech is 1,571 students.
New campus partnerships with the United Way (Barnwell campus) and CATT/Ready SC (Denmark campus) were also noted.
Denmark Mayor Carrie Simmons, Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Gerald Wright and representatives from Allendale and Bamberg County Councils were present to bring greetings and highlight mutual issues.
Members of the Legislative Delegation also visited the campus one week prior to the meeting to hear information and share their support for Denmark Tech.
Dr. John Waddell, DTC president, and Leon Harden, Area Commission chairman, were presented a gift for the Denmark Technical College Foundation by South Carolina Bank and Trust.
The next Area Commission meeting is scheduled for February 2008.
