Pearl Harbor Day

he Missouri is now a maritime museum that is anchored just a few hundred yards from the Arizona Memorial. The Arizona lies on the harbor floor right where it sank on Dec. 7, 1941 during the devastating Japanese surprise attack.
The memorial now straddles its hull. The Arizona Memorial represents the beginning of World War II for the United States, and the U.S.S. Missouri represents the end of World War II as the Japanese surrender for World War II was signed on the deck of the Missouri when it was anchored in Tokyo Bay on Sept. 2, 1945.
