BAMBERG -- Local churches and members of the community are invited to a Community Christmas Songfest, set for 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Bamberg.

This special event, which will use music to tell the story of Christmas, will take place in the church sanctuary. One of the many highlights will be the lighting of an Angel Tree bearing names of memorialized and honored families and friends.

Mount Carmel has provided more than 140 years of service and spiritual guidance to Bamberg County and the surrounding communities.

"This is just another way that we are ministering to the community," said Helene Carter, worship coordinator for the church.

For more information, call 803-793-3878 or 803-536-6170. Mount Carmel United Methodist is located at 12457 Heritage Highway in Bamberg.
