BB&T declares 42-cent dividend
Sunday, December 23, 2007WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The board of directors of BB&T Corp. has declared the 2008 first quarter dividend of 46 cents per share, a 9.5 percent increase over the 42 cents paid in the first quarter of 2007.
The dividend will be paid Feb. 1 to shareholders of record as of Jan. 11.
The five-year compound growth rate for BB&T's quarterly dividend payment is 9.7 percent. BB&T has paid a cash dividend to shareholders every year since 1903. The corporation has increased its quarterly cash dividend payments for 36 consecutive years.
