HARTSVILLE -- Kalmia Gardens of Coker College recently hosted its annual Historic Christmas Open House.

Olin Jackson of Lugoff, President of the SC Donkey and Mule Assoc., with his draft mules, Pat and Penny, offered carriage rides on the property.

The SCDMA is a statewide organization of over 60 families dedicated to the promotion of their animals through fun and educational family-oriented activities. (Shows, Parades, Trail Rides, Camping, Demonstrations, Plowing Competitions and Fields Days).

The Holiday Hideaway with 20 local artists was open in the Little White House behind the Hart House, showing and selling. Also, the Hartsville Chamber Ensemble sang and light refreshments were served.

The Darlington Master Gardeners decorated the Thomas Edwards Hart House with arrangements representing an 1820's Christmas. The Hart House is on the grounds of Kalmia Gardens about 2 1/2 miles from downtown and the College campus.
