South Carolina State offensive lineman James Lee has been named to the 33rd Sheridan Broadcasting Network Black College All-America Team announced Wednesday (Jan. 17).

The Bell Glade, Fla. native and the other honorees will be feted at the annual SBN Awards Banquet in Atlanta, Georgia Feb. 16.

Lee, a 6-6, 305 senior who earned a bachelor's from SC State this past December, is among nine Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference players on this year's team, which is led by Tuskegee quarterback Jacary Atkinson, the SBN Offensive Player of the Year, and Bethune-Cookman linebacker Ronnie McCullough, the Defensive Player of the Year. Tuskegee's Willie Slater, who guided his team to the 2007 SBN National Championship, earned Coach of the Year honors.

Lee, the third straight Bulldog lineman to earn a spot on the prestigious squad, earlier was named MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Year after keying the blocking that enabled the Bulldogs to lead the league in rushing and total offense for a second straight season.

He also garnered Associated Press All-America third team honors and was an honorable mention choice to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America squad. In addition, Lee was named to the All-State squad, as selected by both the Orangeburg Touchdown Club and the Columbia (SC) State Newspaper.

The Bulldogs finished the season at 7-4 and was ranked in the top ten in the final rankings of both black college polls and also received votes for The Sports Network (TSN) FCS final poll.
