LEXINGTON -- Village Square Theatre travels to the beach this winter -- Brooklyn's Brighton Beach, that is.

Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs" will take the stage Friday through Sunday, Feb. 1-10, at Village Square Theatre in Lexington.

"Brighton Beach Memoirs" is an autobiographical portrait of Simon as a Brooklyn teenager in 1937 living with his family in crowded, lower-middle class circumstances. This deeply appealing play of a teenage boy "coming of age" deftly mixes drama with comedy as the family struggles to make ends meet.

Friday and Saturday performances are 8 p.m., and Sunday's are at 3 p.m. Box office hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and two hours prior to each performance.

Prices are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 years of age and over, students and military, and $10 for youth 12 years of age and under and groups of 15 or more.

For more information, call 803-359-1436.
