COLUMBIA -- Kenny Chesney will bring the 2008 Poets & Pirates Tour to Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, April 26, for the largest country concert in the history of South Carolina.

Tickets are $49.50, $69.50 and $89.50 and go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9. Tickets will be available at www.thecolonialcenter.com, the Colonial Center box office, Columbia and Lexington Play It Again Sports locations, local Piggly Wiggly stores or by phone at 1-866-4SC-TIXX.

Joining Chesney on the Poets & Pirates Tour are four-time CMA Entertainers of the Year Brooks & Dunn, Grammy Award-winning country artist LeAnn Rimes, International chart topper Gary Allan and newcomer Luke Bryan.

In an effort to eliminate extended overnight camping and potential ticket scalping, as well as concern for public and personal safety, Global Spectrum, operators of the Colonial Center, will institute a random distribution system for tickets purchased at the Colonial Center box office.

Chesney fans must claim a numbered wristband from the arena box office 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, and return to the Colonial Center at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, where a random wristband number will be drawn. The customer holding the number selected will be the first person in line to purchase tickets, followed by the persons holding the subsequent numbers.

Individuals without a numbered wristband must go to the "late line" behind those with the wristbands.

There will be no overnight camping at the Colonial Center Box Office. A wristband does not guarantee a ticket to the concert, merely a place in line. Wristbands are only for the Colonial Center Box Office.
