, Varsity Boys

Jefferson Davis Academy 70, Andrew Jackson 64

EHRHARDT -- Edward Givens scored 33 points and Nick Jamison added 21 to lead JDA (11-12, 9-4).

Bradley Priester led AJA with 22 points; Justin Rentz added 15 and Ryan Fender had 10.

AJA begins the playoffs Thursday night.

Holly Hill Academy 53, Dorchester Academy 37

HOLLY HILL -- Michael Simmons scored 19 points and Chance Shelley added 13 to lead HHA.

Evan Mizzell led DA with 12 points. With the win, Holly Hill Academy improved to 16-6 overall and 5-1 in region play.

Varsity Girls

Jefferson Davis Academy 54, Andrew Jackson Academy 47

EHRHARDT -- Megan Huber scored 16 and Lindsey Birt had 10 points and 13 rebounds to lead JDA.

Roxanne Morgan and Lauren Neely added 10 points for JDA (16-8, 12-1). Ashten Murray scored 12 for AJA (16-7); Kristen Mixon had 11 and Erica Bessigner 10.

AJA begins the playoffs Friday night.JDA closes ou the regular season at home tonight against Bowman Academy.

Holly Hill Academy 53, Dorchester Academy 49

HOLLY HILL -- Stephanie Peagler scored 17 points to lead HHA.

Victoria Way added 11 points for HHA (18-4, 6-0), and Roberta Shuler and Hannah Way each had nine. Katelyn Mauney led Dorchester Academy with 17 points.

JV Boys

Holly Hill Academy 40, Dorchester Academy 31

HOLLY HILL -- Madison West led HHA with 12 points.

Tyler James added 11 for HHA (16-3, 5-1). Thomas McAlhaney led DA with 12 points.

JV Girls

Jefferson Davis Academy 51, Andrew Jackson Academy 28

BLACKVILLE - Darcey Holladay had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Kacie Owens had 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the JV Lady Raiders on Tuesday.

Also scoring in double figures for JDA was Katie Baltzager with 12 points.

Madeline Elkins scord 12 points to lead the JV Lady Confederates.

JDA (10-2, 7-0) will close out the regular season at home tonight against Bowman Academy.

Holly HIll Academy 36, Dorchester Academy 12

HOLLY HILL -- Tressa Hutto led HHA with 13 points.

Raven Hutson added eight for HHA (18-1, 6-0).

All-Area Basketball Nominations

Nominations are now being taken for the 2008 T&D All-Area boys' and girls' basketball teams.

Nominations should included the player's height, weight, class, position and statistics. Coaches may nominate as many players as they would like, but no player will be selected to an All-Area team without nomination.

Boys' and girls' basketball coaches are encouraged to send their nominations to blinder@timesanddemocrat.com.
