The Claflin Lady Panthers defeated SIAC leader Tuskegee University, 59-52 Tuesday night.

The Lady Panthers were down 26-25 at the half. CU would enjoy their largest lead of the night 10 points 50-40 at the 5:00 left to play. By the 2:30 mark, the Lady Tigers cut the CU lead to 54-50, with a 10-4 run. But, that would be as close as the Lady Tigers would get as Claflin outscored Tuskegee 5-2 the rest of the way for the final margin.

The Lady Panthers were led to victory by Donisha Albert with 16 points. Latoya Savage added 15 points, and Ashley Sorrell-Gibson finished with 13 points.

In the nightcap, Claflin University defeated Tuskegee 88-79. The Panthers used a suffocating half court trapping defense which resulted in numerous turnovers that led to easy layups.

Derrick Morrow led Tuskegee with 16 points. Byron Fisher added 15 points. Reginald Robinson collected 13 points, and Keith Flournoy finished with 11 points for the Golden Tigers.

Claflin received balanced scoring as all five starters scored in double-figures. Phillip Brown led all scorers with 19 points. Ray and Benjamin Lawmann collected 11 points each. And Jerome Starr and Eric Salley each tallied 10 points.

Claflin will celebrate "Senior Night" and "Community Night" Monday February 18 when Stillman College.
