FACT: A win would move Calhoun County into a five-way tie with Columbia, Olympia, Eau Claire and Great Falls for second place all-time for most state boys' basketball championships with seven. It would also make head coach Zam Fredrick the first boys' coach in S.C. High School League history to win seven state titles ... The Saints are looking to also become the sixth team in state history to win three straight titles, the last being Gaffney from 2002-04 ... A victory would also extend Calhoun County's winning streak to 78 games - the longest in state history.

DID YOU KNOW?: This is the third straight year Calhoun County is facing a head coach with South Carolina State ties as Tigers' head coach Barry McFadden is an alumnus ... SCSU defensive lineman Sterling Blunt is a graduate of Hemingway and played in the 2006 championship game ... Fredrick's son, Zambolist "Buck" Fredrick, is a junior guard on the University of South Carolina basketball team ... Fredrick is one of two St. Matthews natives coaching in state finals today. Southside head coach Louie Golden leads his team against Burke at 5 p.m.

NOTE: Calhoun County is the host team and will wear white jerseys with black letters. Hemingway is the road team will wear blue jerseys.

" To the sports writer C E Murray Girls won the class A state title in 2003 def Timmonsville, 2004 def Christ Church and 2005 lost to HKT 2008 def HKT. So the number of appearances should be 2003,2004,2005,2008. "
