The two-week partisan filing period continued Tuesday, as more local Democrats filed for various offices in Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg counties.

District 40 Sen. Brad Hutto and Orangeburg County Council Chairman Harry Wimberly of District 3 both filed for reelection to four-year terms.

In Calhoun County, Democratic incumbents filing for reelection to office for four-year terms are District 36 Sen. John Land, District 93 Rep. Harry Ott, Auditor Pamela Tabor and Sheriff Thomas Summers.

In addition to all of Calhoun County, Ott's district includes part of Orangeburg County and a small part of Lexington County. Land's district includes all of Calhoun and Clarendon counties, as well as parts of Sumter and Florence counties.

Bamberg County Democratic incumbents filing for reelection to four-year terms are Sheriff Ed Darnell and Clerk of Court James B. "Pedie" Hiers. Also, challenger Marion Dwight IV has filed for the District 1 seat on Bamberg County Council held by Democratic incumbent Chris Wilson.

As of Tuesday, Wilson had not filed for reelection. The other council incumbents, who also have yet to file, are Clair Guess of District 4, Isaiah Odom of District 5 and Clint Carter of District 7.

The filing period closes at noon on March 30, with the partisan primaries scheduled for June 10.
