COLUMBIA - Phil Disher hit a grand slam in the third to lead South Carolina to a 10-3 win over Mississippi State in Southeastern Conference action.
The Gamecocks (15-5, 4-2 SEC) got eight innings of work from starter Blake Cooper (3-2), who picked up the win Sunday. Justin Smoak added two hits and three RBIs and Andrew Crisp got a single to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.
South Carolina jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first that Disher increased to a 7-0 lead in the third with his sixth homer of the season.
Connor Powers supplied the offense for the Bulldogs (9-12, 1-5), going 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in the sixth.
