ROCK HILL — The South Carolina State men’s tennis team captured its first school win against Winthrop University Monday 5-2 at The Winthrop Memorial Courts in Rock Hill.
The Bulldogs improve to 12-3 overall, 5-1 in the MEAC.
SCSU will travel to Statesboro, GA on Friday to take on Georgia Southern in a 2 p.m. contest.

SC State finish fifth The South Carolina State University men’s golf team finished fifth in the annual Bulldog Invitational Sunday held at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Orangeburg.

The first day of play was suspended due to bad weather.
Rounding out the top three were Bethune-Cookman who finished first with an overall score of 281.
Troy Coker of Bethune-Cookman ended the day to lead all golfers with a 67, while Spencer Slade of Savannah State finished with a 69.
SC State will return to action May 5-7 in the Minority Golf Championships in Port St. Lucia Fl.
High School Girls Soccer CORDOVA - Amanda Kestler, Lauren Hammond and Jennifer Troutman each scored and Christina Carter had two assists for the Lady Cougars who picked up their first victory of the season on Monday.

Edisto (1-6) travels to Gilbert on Thursday.
Daneilya Tinker had the lone goal for O-W.
High School Boys Soccer CORDOVA--Aldo Valleda led the Cougars to victory with three goals.

Joe Woodward also added a goal and three assists.
Defensively, Corey Pitts had 14 saves while Robert Dreher recorded 23 steals.
Edisto (8-5) will head to Gilbert on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Softball HAMPTON--Taylor Hicks recorded nine strikeouts and scattered two hits to pick up the win for the Lady Red Raiders.
