CAMERON -- The Calhoun Players will present "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25-26, and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Old Cameron Auditorium.

The script by Michele L. Vacca, and under the direction of LeAnna Wilson, is based on the classic novel by Mark Twain and highlights memorable moments from young Tom's life.

The audience will see Tom, played by Taylor McKeowen, at home with his Aunt Polly (Jennifer Haigler) and his half-brother, Sid (Will Inabinet). He'll be at play with his friends Joe Harper (Coe Dantzler), Susan Harper (Kaitlyn Williams) and the town's outcast, Huckleberry Finn, played by Daniel Harward. Catch a glimpse of Tom's youthful romance with Becky Thatcher, played by Ali Reid, as well as his frightful experiences with Tommy Huggins' incarnation of the character Injun Joe.

Sets design and construction are by Tim Miller, Joel Williams and Ben Coonrod. Also featured in the production are Jim Link as Mark Twain, Emily Courtney as Alfred, Jeff Reid as Preacher Dobbins, Amelia Coonrod as Mrs. Harper, Ben Davis as Muff Potter, Bayne Haigler as Doc Robinson and Zachary Rast, Emma Stevenson, Anna Smith, Charlotte Williams, Haley Clark, Ashley Russell and Carly Harward as residents of St. Petersburg, Mo.

Don't miss the chance to see this classic tale onstage as the Calhoun Players bring the Mississippi River town of St. Petersburg to life in Cameron. Tickets are $10 for adults 18 years of age and older and $8 for senior citizens and children 17 years of age and younger.
