ELLOREE, S.C. - Patrons of the award-winning Elloree Heritage Museum & Cultural Center are enjoying the use of the museum’s newly-installed elevator, which offers easy access to the upstairs art gallery and exhibits.

To celebrate the new elevator, a reception was held at the museum on April 4 with a ribbon-cutting by museum founders Becky Ulmer and Dr. and Mrs. Bob Holman. The elevator is the result of many years of planning and fund-raising by members and volunteers.

“We are delighted to be able to make the museum more accessible and comfortable for our patrons,” Pat Holman said.

The project was aided by grants provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Gary W. Dietrich Family Foundation, the Joseph J. Miller Foundation, Tri-County Electric Cooperative and the Orangeburg-Calhoun Community Foundation.
