S.C. State finishes third at Women’s Collegiate Golf Championships

Stone Mountain, GA -- The South Carolina State women’s golf team finished third at the 2008 Women’s Collegiate

Golf Championship hosted by the Women in Golf Foundation.

The Lady Bulldogs, who shot a combined 700 (350-350), finished behind champions Bethune-Cookman University (660) and Jackson State University (675). Freshman Honesty Biggers was a medal

Recipient finishing in fifth place with a two-day total of 165 (80-85).

Senior Jennie McCollum, who competed in her last collegiate tournament, finished 10th with a combined 172 (86-86), and junior Addi McLaren finished 11th shooting 174 (89-85) over the two-days.

The Lady Bulldogs will close out the season at the PGA National Minority Golf Championship May 9-11 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
