Softball

Orangeburg Prep 11, St. Joseph's 1

LEXINGTON-With Carlin Connelley (3-1) on the mound, the Lady Indians picked up their 14th win of the season in first round action of the SCISAA Class AAA State Tournament against St. Joseph's.

Connelley factored into the win at the plate with a 2-RBI double. Brittney Rast, Kayla Stephens and Kayla Mims were each 1-for-3 for OPS.

Orangeburg Prep 4, Northwood 2

LEXINGTON-Kayla Mims (11-5) was the winning pitcher in this contest.

Carlin Connelley and Brandy McRae each went 2-for-3 in the win for the Lady Indians. Michelle Whitman, Cayce Ulmer and Barkley Stoudenmire each had a base hit to help their team advance to the state quarterfinals.

Orangeburg Prep (15-6) will face Cardinal Newman at 9 a.m. today Pine Grove Softball Complex.

Holly Hill 4, W.W. King 3

LEXINGTON-Sara Shuler had the game-winning RBI single to lift the Lady Raiders past W.W. King to advance in the SCISAA Class AA State Tournament.

Taylor Owens led the Holly Hill with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate including a triple and a RBI. Mary Lockey, Brittany Dantzler and Megan Mizell each contributed with a hit.

Katie Carpenter (13-3) picked up the win for the Lady Raiders.

Holly Hill moves on to the quarterfinals today at 9 a.m. where they will face Pee Dee Academy.

David Horton Baseball Camp

The David Horton Baseball Camp will run from June 2 to June 6 for children ages 7-13.

Ages 7-9 will have camp from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. while ages 10-13 will go from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration fees for ages 7-9 is $40. Registration fees for ages 10-13 is $60. Camp registration will be held on the morning of June 2 at the Bamberg-Ehrhardt softball field. For more information, call (803) 245-4160.
