Enjoy family fun at 'Hurray for Hollywood'
Thursday, May 29, 2008COLUMBIA -- Families can experience movie magic Saturday, June 7, at the South Carolina State Museum during its "Hurray for Hollywood Family Fun Day" breakfast, the kick-off to a full day of Hollywood and movie-themed activities.
This "breakfast with the stars" from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. will feature characters from "Scooby-Doo," "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," "Star Trek" and more. Plus, guests dressed as their favorite movie characters will compete for prizes in the Red Carpet Costume Contest. After breakfast, diners can visit the Museum's "Hollywood Comes to South Carolina: A Century of Filmmaking in the Palmetto State" exhibit.
Cost for the public is $15 per adult and $12 per child. Members of the State Museum can enjoy the breakfast for $10 per adult and $7 per child.
Other activities include Hollywood makeovers from local makeup artists, face painting by members of the Columbia Children's Theatre, a movie-themed scavenger hunt and making an animated flip book, among others.
At 3 p.m., a classic Hollywood family movie will be shown.
June 7 is also Hollywood Member Day. Museum members will be able to see the "Hollywood Comes to South Carolina" exhibit free of charge, in addition to their free regular museum admission.
