State Sen. John Matthews, state Rep. Bakari Sellers and former Richland County Democratic Party Chairman Steve Benjamin announced they are endorsing Rob Miller in the Democratic primary for U.S. Congress in the Second Congressional District.

Blaine Lotz is also seeking the Democratic nomination for the district, while Phil Black is running against Congressman Joe Wilson in the Republican primary.

“I’m supporting Rob because he’ll be the voice for change we need in Washington. He represents new leadership and new ideas,” Sellers said in a statement released Thursday.
