Travis Gleaton, director of counseling services at Greenville Technical College, was named Community Partner of the Year by Mental Health America of Greenville County.

This annual award is given to an individual or agency exemplifying a commitment to promoting mental wellness for all people in the community and supporting programs and services provided by MHAGC.

In 2007, MHAGC joined affiliates across the nation in raising awareness of suicide among college students. The organization partnered with Upstate colleges and universities to promote early detection of mental health problems and suicide prevention. Travis scheduled and coordinated best practice suicide prevention training on three Greenville Tech campuses. MHAGC received state and national accolades for the group’s work on Upstate college campuses with programming at Greenville Tech cited as an outstanding collaborative effort.

Gleaton is the son of Isaac Gleaton and Queen Gleaton of North.
