Reaction to school closing shows hatred
Saturday, July 05, 2008This letter is in regards to the June 20 article by Phyllis A. Overstreet: “Officials, residents upset by school closing vow not to shop in Bamberg.”
I do not know everyone who lives in Ehrhardt; however, of the ones I do know, I have some very dear friends. I would hope that those who love the Lord do not have the hatred in their hearts shown by this article.
Proverbs 17:27-28 says, “The intelligent person restrains his words, and one who keeps a cool head is a man of understanding.
“Even a fool is considered wise when he keeps silent, discerning, when he seals his lips.”
Proverbs 18:20-21 “From the fruit of his mouth a man’s stomach is satisfied, he is filled with the product of his lips.
“Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 25: 11-12 “A word spoken at the right time is like golden apples on a silver tray.
“A wise correction to a receptive ear is like a gold ring or an ornament of gold.”
Proverbs 26: 20-22,28 “Without wood, fire goes out; without a gossip, conflict dies down.
“As charcoal for embers and wood for fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.
“A gossip’s words are like choice food that goes down to one’s innermost being.
“A lying tongue hates those it crushes, and a flattering mouth causes ruin.”
Let the word of God speak for itself!
