The boil water advisory for the city of Denmark, S.C. at or near the intersection of James Wright and Connelly Street has been lifted.

According to a press release from David B. Pittman, Public Works Director, the water system in the area has been flushed and tested negative for total coliform bacteria on Friday, July 18.

Residents are advised to run their water for three to five minutes to flush the interior plumbing prior to drinking.

Residents are also strongly encouraged to empty and clean automatic ice makers, water chillers, and any other appliance that is using the city water source.

If you have any questions about the boil water advisory or water quality in Denmark, contact the public works department at 803-383-0012.

" The water in Denmark has always been bad and still is after the advisory. If you bring someone to Denmark and test the water today it would contain a bunch of crap. Once every week it comes out brown. It's like being in a third world country, or their water maybe be better since Oprah and others are cleaning up theirs while Denmark-USA gets weekly coffee. "
