A Ridley Drive man called deputies early Saturday, saying he was assaulted, according to an OCSO incident report.

The man said that around 4 a.m., a male acquaintance attacked him suddenly at a Columbia Road residence. He said the man attacked him because he was smoking a cigarette in the kitchen. The victim cut his arm at some point during the incident.

The victim did not wish to press charges.

In other reports:

* A James Island man called deputies Friday after discovering his Orangeburg County home’s air conditioner had been taken.

The man said he noticed his 2.5-ton unit had been taken from his Eastwood Circle home.

Deputies found a screwdriver and a butter knife at the residence.

The unit is valued at about $1,000.

* A Baugh Street woman reported her home was burglarized Saturday after she found her door open.

The woman said a deputy came out earlier after she found her door kicked open. But she had gone to stay at a motel.

When she came back, she found a 52-inch big screen TV, a Sony stereo, two DVD players and a grass trimmer missing. The items are valued at about $5,685.

* A Bleakley Street man called deputies Saturday, claiming a neighbor sabotaged his vehicle.

The man said he believes a neighbor put sugar in the tank of his vehicle, but the neighbor told deputies he did not put sugar in the tank, according to an OCSO incident report.

The victim said he would follow up with the case at a later date when he had a translator.
