CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson baseball coach Jack Leggett thanked those concerned about him and his family following a fire that destroyed much of their home.

Leggett and his family were out of town on vacation at the time of the blaze.

County officials say it took about 50 firefighters about two hours to put the fire out. Keowee Fire Chief Richie Caudill says the blaze was mostly contained to the attic and firefighters were able to save many items, even though the roof collapsed.

Leggett says in a statement he would work to establish a fund to aid a fire-related cause.
