Time Warner Entertainment to expand in Charlotte
By The Associated PressMonday, August 04, 2008CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Time Warner Entertainment Company L.P. plans to expand its Charlotte operations over the next four years, adding 200 jobs and investing more than $3 million.
The company announced Monday that the plans are part of a Job Development Investment Grant, which allowed it to expand its Charlotte corporate offices in 2005. The company said that expansion exceeded goals by creating more than 400 jobs and $31 million in investment.
As part of the new grant, the company must retain those jobs and 462 jobs already in Charlotte.
Time Warner Entertainment is a majority-owned subsidiary of Time Warner Cable Inc. Time Warner Cable is the second largest cable operator in the country. It provides services to 14.7 million customers, including more than 1.5 million in North Carolina.
