COLUMBIA, S.C. - Former South Carolina star Tarance Kinsey has signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers after spending part of last season overseas.

Cleveland general manager Danny Ferry announced the deal.

The 24-year-old Kinsey played for Memphis as a rookie in 2006-07, averaging nearly 8 points a game. He split last season between the Grizzlies and a team in the Turkish Basketball League.

Kinsey spent four seasons with the Gamecocks.

He played on both NIT title teams in 2005 and 2006. Kinsey’s 3-pointer at the end of the 2005 championship game against St. Joseph’s clinched the title for South Carolina.
