Local authorities have issued three warrants against an Orangeburg man in connection with last Monday’s shooting incident at St. Paul Apartments.

Alatroy Rashad Hilliard, 19, of 1281 Wisteria Drive, is facing charges of unlawful carrying of a pistol, malicious injury to real property under $1,000 and discharging a firearm in the city.

“We are looking for the suspect,” Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Capt. Mike Adams said.

No one was hurt when multiple shots were fired at the apartment complex last week, however one round did strike a vacant house on Enterprise Street, causing $100 in damage.

Adams said the incident may be gang-related.

Several witnesses said they saw Hilliard pull out a semi-automatic pistol and fire several shots toward Enterprise Street, warrants allege.

“At least one of the witnesses knew him by name,” the warrants say.

Adams said the investigation is still ongoing.

Hilliard is still believed to be in the Orangeburg area.

Adams encouraged individuals with any information regarding Hilliard’s whereabouts to call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIMESC or the ODPS at 533-2812.

" Freeman, I have to agree with Eaglessoar, leaving Orangeburg may NOT be the answer. You have your good citizens and you have your bad citizens and it seems Orangeburg has more than it's share of bad, be it drugs, robbery, gangs, murders, etc., it is here. Go anywhere else in this State to any restaurant or any other public building and you feel as if you are in another dimension. In Orangeburg you find trash all over the floors of restaurants etc. and that is really sad.
Look at the highways and roadways where trash like old mattresses, busted garbage bags etc. are strewn all over the place, you don't see this when you leave Orangeburg. Why would anyone want to live here. All the street scape, paint or any improvements will not help main street, you are fighting a losing cause. It serves but one purpose and I think we all know what that is. Yes, I would love to leave this town and maybe one day my dream will become a reality. "

" Eaglessoar crime is spreading everywhere leaving Orangeburg won't shield you from it.The police need the help of the community to solve these crimes. "

" This is why I left Orangeburg. Orangeburg is a dump. "
