CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with several hospitality partners, is giving engaged couples across America the chance to win a Charleston destination wedding. The weekend will include full-service event planning, invitation design and printing, resort lodging for 20, the rehearsal dinner, a designer wedding dress, ceremony and reception for 50 (to include flowers, catering, the cake, photographer, entertainment and ground transportation) and a Sunday harbor farewell brunch.

With an estimated value of $80,000, the celebration is slated for April 3-5, 2009, and is certain to be a weekend to remember. To enter, visit www.charlestonweddinggiveaway.com. Couples must fill out an online application and submit a three-minute video by Aug. 29.

Couples will be judged based on the appeal of their video submission. Finalists will be posted for online voting in September, and the winning couple will be announced in October.

Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms will host the ceremony, reception, lodging and offer golf for five foursomes. Post-wedding, the resort is including a one-year anniversary trip. On the wedding night, the couple will be whisked downtown to historic Charleston's Mills House Hotel for an evening in the hotel's Presidential Suite.

Top rated event-planning firm, Something to Celebrate, will work with the couple to ensure an unforgettable wedding celebration weekend.

A rehearsal dinner will take place at Middleton Place on the Ashley River, where guests will be surrounded by 65 acres of landscaped gardens, Spanish moss-draped live oaks and blooming azaleas and dogwoods. Duvall Catering & Event Design will provide hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and serve dinner. Charleston Flower Market will create bouquets and floral arrangements for the entire wedding decor.

The bridal luncheon on Saturday will be served at High Cotton Restaurant. And Ashley Bakery will be at the helm of creating the wedding cake.

New York designers Anna-Maijer and Ulla-Maija of Maddison Row Bridal Chic will provide a custom gown, including a carriage ride to the private bridal appointment, in-store fittings and alterations and gown preservation. Nationally renowned stationer Dulles Designs will provide a full invitation suite covering all weekend events. At the reception, guests will be entertained by the Joe Clark Big Band. Lea Dales Photography and the Chart Group will be on-site to capture the special day through photography and video. PDA will enhance the ambiance through lighting, special effects and staging.

A Sunday farewell brunch aboard SpiritLine Cruises will offer guests a view of Charleston's historic skyline via the Charleston harbor. Absolutely Charleston will provide transportation throughout the weekend with vintage fleets and vehicles reminiscent of a bygone era.

The CVB's sixth annual Wedding Guide has been unveiled. To request a complimentary copy, visit www.CharlestonWeddingGuide.com or call 1-800-868-8118. To enter to win the destination wedding in Charleston, visit www.CharlestonWeddingGiveaway.com.
