Deputies want 'dude' to stop loud music
By T&D StaffThursday, August 21, 2008Deputies say they’ll ticket a “dude” in a white SUV the next time someone complains about his music, according to an OCSO incident report.
An Orangeburg County man called deputies Sunday about a white SUV playing extremely loud music. The caller gave a description of the driver and the license plate number, which came back to a Beason Road man.
A records check indicated that since May, there had been no less than 13 calls on the white SUV. In each case, the subject refused to turn down the music.
The deputy closed that report, stating he would find a resolution.
On Tuesday, during a supervisor’s meeting, it was decided to end verbal warnings to the music dude. A ticket would be written on the spot should deputies have to respond to that address again, according to the reports.
In a separate report, a Middlepen Drive man called Wednesday to report his ATV missing from his property.
The man said that around 4:51 p.m. he discovered his red and white Raptor 350 all-terrain vehicle missing.
The man said he saw two white males on his property earlier using a metal detector. He told them to leave. Later, he discovered the $5,300 vehicle missing.
* A Dantzler Street man learned Wednesday someone is trying to sell his stolen Yamaha ATV.
The man said that he first learned his blue and white Yamaha Banshee was missing around 8 p.m.
Later, the man said he learned that a local ATV shop received a call asking if they had an ATV stolen. The man said he was able to determine the call came from the Goff Ave. and Stilton Road area.
The $6,000 ATV is still missing.
* A Seminole Street man notified police Tuesday after realizing his American bulldog puppies had been stolen.
The man said someone removed the two females and one male sometime prior to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The females are described as being white and brindle, or striped. The male pup is said to be white.
All are said to be worth about $800 each.
