CAYCE, S.C. - A production studio plans to announce a film project to be made at its new facilities in Cayce.

Genesis Studios president Cliff Springs says Tuesday’s announcement will be a project that fits in with the goals the company had in building its new facilities in the city just across the Congaree River from downtown Columbia.

Springs says Genesis is primarily an advertising and commercial production company. The new facility includes 15,000 square feet, lighting, stage and editing workstations that could support a feature film.

The company also has a staff that can provide services to outside productions.

South Carolina Film Office commissioner Jeff Monks says the state has about a half-dozen similar production studios.
